MIXMA oversees its own high end rug making workshop in Nepal under its foreign subsidiary - Rai Hand Knotted Rugs Pvt. Ltd. This small batch operation specializes in the fabrication of custom wool, silk, and bamboo rugs. All rugs produced by this company are completely custom and bespoke. Each rug is made to order to exacting standards. We employ a team of Nepalese and Tibetan artisans, all of whom work in a fair trade environment, to produce heirloom pieces using their ancestral hand knotting techniques. Since each rug is unique and one of a kind, we invite you to reach out for a custom quote as we do not have a fixed catalog of rug designs.
In addition to the bespoke rugs produced and exported by our Nepal subsidiary, we work with a variety of local artisans to produce small batch, one-off, furniture or decor items - as shown below. These artisans primarily specialize in intricate carved metals, stones, and woods.

Our NYC based team is available to schedule a visit with you to show our 1,400 piece rug sample kit. We work in a variety of fibers such as silk, yak, New Zealand wool, alpaca, Tibetan wool, bamboo, etc.
Most orders produced by Rai Hand Knotted Rugs will be dispatched on air freight, with larger or higher volume orders sent by sea freight. Transit times to the U.S. range from 1-2 weeks for air freight to 4-6 weeks for sea freight.
Rai Hand Knotted Rugs is its own independent legal entity located in Nepal, and is an independently managed company that operates in tandem with our other companies, MIXMA STUDIO LLC. (USA) and MIXMA S.A. de C.V. (Mexico).
Rai Hand Knotted Rugs is a joint venture between Christopher Kinlaw and its two Nepalese shareholders, Pravash Rai, and Pravin Rai.
